Nigerian Bourse gains N41 billion, closes 0.37% higher, Friday

Trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Friday closed in green as the All Share Index grew by 0.37%, closing at 30,681.50 points from the previous close of 30,568.05 points on Thursday.

Market Capitalisation grew by 0.37% to close at N11.207 trillion from the previous close of N11.166 trillion, gaining N41 billion.

Aggregate volume of traded stocks grew by 75.66%, closing at 339.46 million units against the previous close of 193.25 million units on Thursday.

Value of traded stocks declined by 39.44%, to close at N2.24 billion against the previous close of N3.7 billion on Thursday.

Oil & Gas, Insurance, Banking and Consumer Goods sectors closed higher by 4.85%, 0.93%, 0.31% and 0.12% respectively; while Industrial sector declined by 0.40%

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed positive as 19 stocks gained against 13 stocks that lost.

Percentage Gainers

Berger Paint and Seplat with 10% growth both top the percentage gainers’ chart, to close at N7.15 and N594 respectively.

Initiate Plc, UCAP, Diamond Bank, John Holt and UACN grew 9.84%, 9.37%, 9.20%, 9.09% and 7.00% of their share prices respectively among other stocks on the gainers chart.

Percentage Losers

Sterling Bank led other percentage losers, shedding 9.05% of its share price to close at N1.81 form the previous close of N1.99.

Veritas Kapital, First Aluminium and Fidson shed 8.7%, 6.67% and 6.12% of their share prices respectively among others on the losers chart.

 

Volume Drivers

  • UBA traded about 100.92 million units of its shares valued at N761.9 million in 69 deals
  • FCMB traded about 105.3 million units of its shares  in 87 deals valued at N163.4 million
