Nigerian Bourse gains N3bn, closes 0.03% higher, Tuesday

The Nigerian Stock market on Tuesday closed positive as the All Share Index grew marginally by 0.03% to close at 32,152.90 points from the previous close of 32,143.41 points on Monday.

The market capitalisation grew by 0.03% to close at N11.738 trillion as against the previous close of N11.735 trillion, thereby gaining N3 billion

Volume and value of traded stocks appreciated by 181.3% and 44.1% to close at 339.76 million units and N2.24 billion

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed negative as 16 stocks gained while 26 stocks lost.

Percentage Gainers

Unity Bank with 9.86% growth tops the percentage gainers’ chart, closing at N0.78 as against the previous close of N0.71.

Glaxosmith grew 9.55% of its share price to close at N12.05 from the previous close of N11

Meryer, Mutual Benefit Assurance and Wapco grew 9.09%, 8.70% and 8.67% respectively among others on the gainers’ list.

Percentage Losers

C&I Leasing and LASACO both shed 10% of their share prices to close at N2.52 and N0.27 respectively

Julius Berger, Ikeja Hotel, Diamond Bank and Regency Alliance shed 9.92%, 9.69%, 9.48%, and 9.09% of their share prices respectively.

Volume Drivers

  • Ikeja Hotel traded about 279.1 million of its shares, being the highest volume of the day in just 3deals valued at about N572.16 million
  • FBNH traded about 19.55 million units of its shares in 229 deals, valued at about N145.59 million
