Nigerian Bourse gains N112bn as it grew further by 0.90%

The Nigerian equities market on Tuesday closed on a positive note as the All Share Index grew by 0.90%, closing at 27,586.93 points away from the previous close of 27,339.68 points on Monday.

Market capitalisation grew by 0.89%, to close at N13.316 trillion away from the previous close of N13.199 trillion gaining N117 billion.

Volume of traded stocks closed at 446.38 million units, down by 14.23% away from the previous close of 520.43 million units.

The value of traded stocks grew by 8.76%, closing at N5.82 billion from the previous close of N5.35 billion.

Total number of deals at the close of trade was 5,727, down by 0.99% against the previous close of 5,784 deals on Monday.

 

Market Breadth

The market Breadth closed positive as 26 stocks gained while 20 stocks declined in their share prices.

 

Percentage Gainers

Fidson and PZ both led other gainers with 9.80% to close at N2.80 and N5.60 respectively.

Unity Bank, Consolidated Hallmark Insurance and Cornerstone Insurance among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.59%, 9.09% and 8.62% respectively.

Percentage Losers

NCR Nigeria Plc led 19 other price decliners, shedding 10% of its share price to close at N4.05 from the previous close of N4.50.

Livestock Feeds, Courtville and Forte Oil among other price decliners shed 8.00%, 7.69% and 6.11% respectively.

 

Volume Drivers

  • UBA traded about 86.78 million units of its shares in 596 deals, valued at about N709.37 million.
  • Zenith Bank traded about 73.21 million units of its shares in 934 deals, valued at N1.51 billion.
