Nigerian Bourse declines further, closes 0.12% lower

It was yet another bearish session on the floor of the Nigerian stock market on Tuesday as the All Share Index declined further by 0.12% to close at 144,982.51 points against the previous close of 145,159.77 points on Monday.

The market capitalisation closed at N92.219 trillion, shedding 110 billion from N92.329 trillion recorded in the last session.

An aggregate of 199 million units of shares were traded in 21,827 deals, valued at N16.6 billion.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed negative as 27 stocks gained against 28 that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

NCR with 9.95% growth, led the gainers table to close at N30.95 from the previous close of N28.15.

UPL and TANTALIZER among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.80% and 9.79% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Living Trust Insurance, MCNICHOLS and Livestock Feeds among other stocks shed their share prices by 9.00%, 7.75%, and 6.56% respectively.

Volume Drivers

TANTALIZER traded about 59 million units of its shares in 600 deals, valued at about N146 million.

Sterling Bank traded about 36 million units of its shares in 426 deals, valued at about N242 million.

Universal Insurance traded about 28 million units of its shares in 293 deals, valued at N35.8 million.
