Nigerian Bourse declines, closes 0.24% lower, Monday

Trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Monday closed in red as the All Share Index declined by 0.24% to close at 30,798.76 points against the previous close of 30,874.17 points.

Market Capitalisation declined by 0.24% to close at N11.244 trillion against the previous close of N11.271trillion, shedding N27 billion.

Volume and value of shares traded grew by 0.13% and 13.64%, closing at 249.74 million units and N2.72 billion respectively.

Oil & Gas and Banking sectors closed higher by 2.07% and 0.61% respectively while Insurance and Consumer Goods and Industrial sectors declined by 4.51%, 0.72% and 0.03% respectively.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed positive as 19 stocks gained against 14 stocks that lost.

Percentage Gainers

Jaiz with 10% growth tops the percentage gainers’ chart, closing at N0.44 against the previous close of N0.40 on Friday.

Diamond Bank, Learn Africa and FCMB grew 9.23%, 8.62% and 7.59% respectively among others on the gainers chart.

Percentage Losers

 

Continental Reinsurance tops the losers’ chart, shedding 10% of its share price to close at N1.80 against the previous close of N2

MRS, Mansard and PZ shed 9.98%, 9.90%, 9.65% among others on the losers’ chart.

Volume Drivers

  • FCMB traded the highest volume of about 103.48 million units of its shares in 227 deals, valued at about N161 million.
  • FBNH traded about 22.12 million units of its shares in 271 deals, valued at about N160.98 million.
  • Zenith Bank traded about 19.23million units of its shares in 327 deals, valued at about N453.57million.
