Neimeth International Pharmaceuticals Plc has released details of its Board approval on the position of the company’s Executive Director as follows:
- Retirement of the Executive Director – Finance
The Board of Directors of Neimeth International Pharmaceuticals Plc at its meeting held on 25″ April 2019 approved the retirement of Mr. Chris U. Mmeje, the Executive Director, Finance. Mr. Mmeje joined Neimeth as Executive Director — Finance in April 2008, and took on the additional role of Acting Managing Director/CEO from October 2017 till January 2019. He will exit the Company on 31st October 2019 when he hands over to the new Finance Director.
- Appointment of new Executive Director – Finance
At its Extra-ordinary Board meeting held on 14″ May 2019, the Board also approved the appointment of Mrs Temitayo Oluwaseun Nelson as Executive Director – Finance.
Temitayo is a multi-skilled and astute professional who has been instrumental to various strategic turnaround in organizations she worked with and in various capacities both in Nigeria and in United Kingdom. Her industry experience covers the oil and gas, consultancy practice, financial service, e-Payment, manufacturing, automobile, technology and hi-tech industries. Temitayo started her career in Shell Petroleum Development Company before she joined OA & Co Chartered Accountants, where she trained and qualified as a Chartered Accountant. Her experience in the financial service sector cut across erstwhile Standard Trust Bank (now United Bank for Africa) where she rose from Internal Control Officer to Area Compliance Manager within the bank’s Risk Management Division. She was the Group Head General Ledger Control and Management before she joined erstwhile Bank PHB (now Keystone Bank) and led the Corporate Audit functions for the bank. In the United Kingdom, Temitayo managed various roles for automobile, hi-tech, technology and consulting companies including Project Accountant for Man Diesel UK, Group Management Accountant for Westminster Group Plc and Management Accountant for Vega Group UK. She founded InnoVision Business Consulting Services and consulted for various SMEs in Nigeria. Temitayo is an avid finance professional, risk manager and business process re-engineer who also held human resource management and corporate strategy roles within her career span. Prior to joining Neimeth International Pharmaceuticals Plc., she functioned as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Risk Officer for ChamsSwitch Ltd, an e-Payment company, leading the entire finance and risk management department while she supported Group strategic and
Financial Analyst (CFA) Institute, Information System Audit and Control Association (ISACA), Chartered Institute of Management Accountant and Chartered Global Management Accountant. She is married with children.
Temitayo assumed office on 3rd June 2019. Her appointment will be ratified at the next Annual General Meeting of the Company.
In another development, the Board has re-designated Mrs. Florence |. Onyenekwe as Company Secretary/Chief Compliance Officer effective 3″ June 2019.
In this new position, Florence will be saddled with the following responsibilities:
- Overseeing and ensuring compliance within the organization of all laws, regulations, codes by Governments, regulatory agencies and other statutory bodies.
- Providing guidance, advice and/or training to improve business understanding of related laws and regulatory requirements.
- Providing and presenting clear and concise compliance reports to the Board.
- Developing policies and programs that facilitate managers and employees ability to communicate ethical issues.
- Keeping accurate records of Board proceedings and disseminating as required decisions of the Board and generally relate with the members of the Board in ensuring their effectiveness
- Coordinating internal compliance reviews.
Florence |. Onyenekwe maintains her current position as Company Secretary. She joined the company in 2000 as Internal Auditor and System Manager. She was appointed Financial Controller and Acting Company Secretary in 2001. She holds a B.Sc. in Accounting from Olabisi Onabanjo University (2009); a Master’s Degree from University of Lagos. Florence is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and was appointed General Manager Finance and Company Secretary in 2013, the office she held prior to this change.
