Market sheds N81bn as NGXASI closes lower by 0.34%

The equity market on Friday closed on a bearish note as the All Share Index depreciated by 0.34% to settle at 44,454.67 points from the previous close of 44,604.74 points.

The Market Capitalisation declined by 0.34% to close at N23.951 trillion from the previous close of N24.032 trillion, thereby shedding N81 billion.

An aggregate of 405.741 million units of shares were traded in 3,880 deals, valued at N9.8 billion.

The Market Breadth closed negative as 14 equities appreciated in their share prices against 17 equities that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

Fidson Healthcare led other gainers with 9.56% growth to close at N7.50 from the previous close of N6.84.

Julius Berger, Sterling Bank and UPDC among other gainers also grew their share prices by 3.64%, 3.29% and 2.61% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Sunu Assurance led other price decliners as it shed 8.82% of its share price to close at N0.31 from the previous close of N0.34.

CUTIX, Mutual Benefits and Jaiz Bank among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 7.17%, 3.57% and 2.86% respectively.

Volume Drivers

BUAFOODS traded about 102.6 million units of its shares in 124 deals, valued at about N6.8 billion.

Access traded about 33 million units of its shares in 168 deal, valued at N315.8 million.

FBNH traded about 26.6 million units of its shares in 131 deals, valued at N318.6 million.
