Market sheds N21bn as NGXASI closes lower by 0.10%

The equity market resumed the week on a bearish note as the All Share Index on Monday depreciated by 0.10% to settle at 38,686.40 points from the previous close of 38,726.10 points.

The Market Capitalisation declined by 0.10% to close at N20.164 trillion from the previous close of N20.185 trillion, thereby shedding N21 billion.

An aggregate of 210.75 million units of shares were traded in 3,958 deals, valued at N1.5 billion.

The Market Breadth closed negative as 13 equities appreciated in their share prices against 28 equities that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

  • Morison Industries led other gainers with 9.73% growth to close at N1.24 from the previous close of N1.13.
  • Conoil, Veritas Kapital Assurance and Africa Prudential among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.63%, 8.33% and 7.63% respectively.

Percentage Losers

  • Juli Plc led other price decliners as it shed 9.93% of its share price to close at N1.36 from the previous close of N1.51.
  • CWG, Japaul Gold and Honeywell Flour among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 9.80% and 8.47% and 5.69% respectively.

Volume Drivers

  • FBNH traded about 16.64 million units of its shares in 180 deals, valued at about N121.04 million.
  • Coronation Insurance traded about 16.48 million units of its shares in 47 deals, valued at N9.06 million.
  • Chams Plc traded about 16.23 million units of its shares in 27 deals, valued at N3.32 million.
