Market plunged by 0.08% as 24 stocks shed weight

Nigerian stock market on Thursday plunged by 0.08% as 24 stocks shed weight, led by SEPLAT.

The All Share Index dropped by 0.08% to close at 111,818.08 points from the previous close of 111,902.61 points.

The Market Capitalisation declined by 0.08% to close at N70.511 trillion from the previous close of N70.564 trillion, thereby shedding N53 billion.

An aggregate of 556 million units of shares were traded in 18,505 deals, valued at N17 billion.

The Market Breadth closed positive as 41 equities emerged as gainers against 24 equities that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

Mutual Benefit led other gainers with 10.00% growth to close at N1.10 and from the previous close of N1.00

University Press and Academy Press among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.98% and 9.88% respectively.

Percentage Losers

SEPLAT and LEGEND led other price decliners as they shed 10.00% each of their share prices to close at N4964.40 and N6.84 respectively.

ABBEYBUILDING and OMATEK among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 9.90% and 8.97% respectively.

Volume Drivers

UBA traded about 83 million units of its shares in 958 deals, valued at N2.86 billion.

Fidelity Bank traded about 70 million units of its shares in 888 deals, valued at N1.36 billion.

Nigerian Breweries traded about 37 million units of its shares in 164 deals, valued at N2 billion.
