Market declines 0.54% in low-cap dominated trading session

 

The Nigerian Bourse closed negative today Wednesday 14th 2018,  with the All Share Index declining 0.54% from 43,073.42 points of the previous trading session to close at 42,839.49 points.

As a result, investors lost about N155 billion as market capitalisation declined by 1% to close at N 15.325 trillion as against N15.480 trillion of the last trading session.

Although volume of stocks traded also declined by 8.44% compared to last trading session, Value of stocks traded grew by 11.93% to settle at 6.848 billion compared to 6.118 billion of the last trading session.

 Market Breadth

15 stocks   which comprised of majorly low cap stocks closed positive against 42 that lost bringing the market breadth a negative round off.

Percentage Gainers

 

C&I Leasing led other percentage gainers closing 7.78% above the previous close of N1.8, to settle at N1.94. Livestock Feeds grew 5% and UAC Property grew 5% ahead other stocks like NEM, Fidson, ABC Transport and few others.

Percentage losers

On the other side, LASACO tops the losers’ chart losing 9.52% of its share price, while Japaul oil and Diamond Bank both shed 9.09% and 7.34% respectively.

Although, Fidelity Bank traded the highest volume of about 45million units of share, however, Zenith retains in our opinion the most actively traded equity for the day trading about 36million units of share in 724 deals, worth about N1.1 billion.
