The Nigerian Stock market resumed trading on Thursday after the public holiday on Tuesday and Wednesday. Trading activities closed in red as the All Share Index declined further by 1.30% to close at 30,527.07 points against the previous close of 30,930.39 points.
Market capitalisation closed at N13.444 trillion, shedding N178 billion from the previous close of N13.622 trillion.
Aggregate volume of traded stocks closed at 217.33 million units, valued at N5.82bn in 3,686 deals.
Market Breadth
The market breadth closed positive as 23 stocks gained while 16 stocks declined in their share prices.
Percentage Gainers
Julius Berger with 9.90% growth led 22 other gainers to close at N21.65 from the previous close of N19.70.
Champions Breweries, Academy Press and Livestock Feeds among other gainers also grew their share prices by 8.11%, 7.41% and 6.78%.
Percentage Losers
Thomas Wyatt, Capital Oil, Courtville and NEM Insurance among other price decliners shed 10%, 8.70%, 8.33% and 8.07% of their share prices respectively.
Volume Drivers
Guaranty Trust Bank traded about 82.8 million units of its share price in 239 deals, valued at N2.59 billion.
