The Board of Directors of Julius Berger has appointed Engr. Goni Musa Sheikh as the Chairman of its Board for a term of 3 years with effect from April 1, 2025. This is on the background that the current Chairman, Mr. Mutiu Sunmonu would exit the Board by March 31, 2025.
Engr. Goni Musa Sheikh is a graduate of the University of Exeter, Camborne School of Mines, England where he obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Minerals Engineering. He also holds a Masters of Science Degree from the Imperial College, University of London, in Minerals Process Design Engineering.
He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Mining Engineers, Member, Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE); Member, The Council of Registered Engineers of Nigeria (COREN); Member, Council of Mining Engineers and Geoscientists and Member, Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society, and an Associate of the Camborne School of Mines. He has over 35 years of cognate, international and strategic experience in Mining, Oil and Gas operations, particularly in the public sector, which commenced with the Nigerian Mining Corporation, Jos, and from which sector he retired as Federal Permanent Secretary in July 2015.
He is the Executive Vice Chairman, Oriental Energy Resources Limited and sits on the boards of directors of Ezikel Refinery Limited, Nigserve Energy Services Limited and Julius Berger Investments Limited. He is a Member of the Shareholder Advisory Council of Julius Berger International GmbH. He was appointed to the Board of Julius Berger with effect from July 1, 2019
