Investors gain N4bn as All Share Index inches up by 0.03%, Friday

Trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Friday closed on a positive note as the All Share Index rose marginally by 0.03%, closing at 26,851.68 points from the previous close of 26,843.11 points on Thursday.

The market capitalisation closed at N13.071 trillion, gaining N4 billion from the previous close of N13.067 trillion on Thursday.

Aggregate volume of traded stocks closed at 469.99million units, valued at N5.59 billion in 5,594 deals.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed positive as 22 stocks gained while 11 stocks declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

At the close of trade on today, 22 gainers emerged with Guinness and Champion Breweries both taking the lead as they grew their share prices by 10% respectively.

Unity Bank, First Bank of Nigeria (FBNH), Jaiz Bank, Ikeja Hotel and Wema Bank among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.84%, 9.60%, 9.23%, 9.20% and 8.57% respectively.

 

Percentage Losers

Learn Africa, NAHCO and Continental Reinsurance among other price decliners shed their share prices by 9.40%, 8.85% and 5.83% respectively.

 

Volume Drivers

  • Access Bank traded about 158.78 million units of its shares in 555 deals, valued at N1.69 billion.
  • Zenith Bank traded about 71.03 million units of its shares in 859 deals, valued at N1.36 billion.
