Investors gain N3bn as NSEASI rose by 0.02%, Wednesday

The Nigerian Bourse on Wednesday closed on a positive note as the All Share Index rose by 0.02%  to close at 27,607.02 points from the previous close of 27,602.77 points on Tuesday.

Market capitalisation closed at N13.431 trillion, gaining N3 billion from the previous close of N13.428 trillion on Tuesday.

Aggregate volume of traded stocks closed at 130.37 million units, valued at N3 billion in 2,866 deals.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed firm as 13 stocks gained while 13 stocks also declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

John Holt, Cornerstone Insurance and Continental Reinsurance grew their share prices by 10% each to close at N0.55, N0.22 and N1.43 respectively.

Unity Bank, Forte Oil and Wapic Insurance among others also grew their share prices by 8.33%, 5.48% and 5.41% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Honeywell Flour, PZ, Access Bank and Fidelity Bank among other price decliners shed 7.41%, 5.60%, 5.15 and 4.73% of their share prices respectively.

 

Volume Drivers

  • Transcorp traded about 39.09million units of its shares in 80 deals, valued at N41.74 million.
  • MTN Nigeria traded about 15.27 million units of its shares in 144 deals, valued at N2.14 billion.
