Investors gain N3bn as stock market inches up by 0.01%

The Nigerian Exchange on Thursday closed on a positive note as the All Share Index appreciated marginally by 0.01% to close at 41,813.27 points from the previous close of 41,807.10 points.

Investors gained N3 billion as the Market Capitalisation grew by 0.01% to close at N21.825 trillion from the previous close of N21.822 trillion.

An aggregate of 359.96 million units of shares were traded in 3,607 deals, valued at N1.84 billion.

The Market Breadth closed positive as 21 equities emerged as gainers against 12 equities that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

Consolidated Hallmark Insurance led other gainers with 10% growth to close at N0.77 from the previous close of N0.70.

Mutual Benefit Assurance and Regency Assurance among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.68% and 9.30% respectively.

Percentage Losers

FTN Cocoa led other price decliners as it shed 7.50% of its share price to close at N0.37 from the previous close of N0.40.

Royal Exchange and Veritas Kapital Insurance among other price decliners both shed their share prices by 4.76% respectively.

Volume Drivers

Jaiz Bank traded about 97.76 million units of its shares in 115 deals, valued at N53.16 million.

Access Bank traded about 34.05 million units of its shares in 244 deals, valued at N308.38 million.

Sterling Bank traded about 30.54 million units of its shares in 40 deals, valued at N44.92 million.
