Investors gain N17bn as market advances by 0.09%

The Nigerian equity market on Friday closed on a positive note as the All Share Index grew by 0.09% to settle at 38,648.91 points from the previous close of 38,615.11 points.

Investors gained N17 billion as Market Capitalisation appreciated by 0.08% to close at N20.143 trillion from the previous close of N20.126 trillion.

An aggregate of 220.64 million units of shares were traded in 2,952 deals, valued at N2.53 billion.

The Market Breadth closed positive as 17 equities appreciated in their share prices against 10 equities that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

  • Consolidated Hallmark Insurance led other gainers with 9.84% growth to close at N0.67 from the previous close of N0.61.
  • Regency Assurance and Royal Exchange among other gainers also grew their share prices by 8.70% and 5.88% respectively.

Percentage Losers

  • Mutual Benefit Assurance led other price decliners as it shed 8.16% of its share price to close at N0.45 from the previous close of N0.49.
  • Courtville and AIICO Insurance among other price decliners also shed their share prices by .4.76% and 2.68% respectively.

Volume Drivers

  • Zenith Bank traded about 44.97 million units of its shares in 387 deals, valued at N1.057 billion.
  • Wema Bank traded about 21.73 million units of its shares in 94 deals, valued at N11.95 million.
  • UBA traded about 15.29 million units of its shares in 131 deals, valued at N112.19 million.
