Investors gain N14bn as stock market advances by 0.07%

The Nigerian stock market on Thursday closed on a positive note as the All Share Index appreciated by 0.07% to close at 39,477.18 points from the previous close of 39,449.82 points.

Investors gained N14 billion as the Market Capitalisation grew by 0.07% to settle at N20.568 trillion from the previous close of N20.554 trillion.

An aggregate of 186.33 million units of shares were traded in 3,595 deals, valued at N1.79 billion.

The Market Breadth positive as 27 equities appreciated in their share prices against 12 equities that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

Eterna Plc led other gainers with 9.97% growth, closing at N7.50 from the previous close of N6.82.

UDPC, AIICO, Glaxo Smith and Honeywell Flour among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.74%, 8.42%, 7.94% and 7.45% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Ikeja Hotel led other price decliners as it shed 10% of its share price, closing at N1.26 from the previous close of N1.40.

SCOA Plc and ABC Transport among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 9.43% and 8.33% respectively.

Volume Drivers

Sovereign Trust Insurance traded about 19.67 million units of its shares in 34 deals, valued at N4.64 million.

Lafarge Africa (WAPCO) traded about 17.43 million units of its shares in 140 deals valued at N382.41 million.

Honeywell Flour traded about 15.04 million units of its shares in 217 deals, valued at N52.41 million.
