The Nigerian equity market on Wednesday grew further as the All Share Index appreciated by 0.46% to settle at 49,934.60 points from the previous close of 49,706.09 points.
Investors gained 124 billion as the Market Capitalisation was up by 0.46% to close at N27.198 trillion from the previous close of N27.074 trillion.
An aggregate of 499 million units of shares were traded in 3,989 deals, valued at N3.88 billion.
The Market Breadth closed positive as 27 equities appreciated in their share prices against 6 equities that declined in their share prices.
Percentage Gainers
Cornerstone Insurance and Champion Breweries led the gainers with 10.00% growth each to close at N0.55 and N5.17 from the previous close of N0.50 and N4.70 respectively.
GEREGU, Wema Bank and THOMAS WYATT among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.96%, 9.94% and 9.88% respectively.
Percentage Losers
RT BRISCOE led price decliners’ table as it shed 7.41% of its share price to close at N0.25 from the previous close of N0.27.
MCNICHOLS, FTN Cocoa and WAPIC among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 3.70%, 3.45% and 2.44% respectively.
Volume Drivers
Veritas Kapital traded about 348.5 million units of its shares in 24 deals, valued at about N69.7 million.
ACCESSCORP traded about 28.9 million units of its shares in 196 deals, valued at about N248 million.
GTCO traded about 25.7 million units of its shares in 339 deals, valued at N587.6 million.
