Glaxosmith announces change of Board

The Board of Directors of GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Nigeria Plc has announced the appointment of Dr Amina Salihu as an Independent Non-Executive Director on the Board of the company, effective 28th May, 2021.

Dr Salihu is a Senior Programme Officer with the MacArthur Foundation Africa Office. A consultant, farmer and Muslim feminist, Dr Salihu is a social entrepreneur facilitating ideas and opportunities for agro-enterprise, voice and advocacy for women, young people, persons with disabilities, and their communities,  especially in the Northern Nigeria. She is technical designer and advisor to the EU RoLAC programme on the design of a web-based sexual offender register for Nigeria. Amina is a member of the Governing Council of Ekiti State University. Dr Salihu  is Coordinator of the Ministry of Finance Technical Working Group on gender, employment and disability inclusion for the Nigeria Agenda 2050 policy development process.

The Board is very confident that with her diverse background, relevant experience and extensive advocacy on gender and women empowerment issues, Dr Salihu would add significant value to the quality and diversity of the Board of GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Nigeria Plc.
