Equity market declines by 1.19% WoW, sheds N476bn

Trading of equities on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange last week closed bearish as high cap stock such as MTN Nigeria as well as other 57 other stocks closed the week lower

The All Share Index and Market capitalization dipped by 1.19% and 0.71 trillion to settle at 106,538.60 points and N66.717 trillion respectively.

An aggregate of 1.8 billion units of shares were traded in 64,222 deals, valued at N47 billion.

The market breadth closed negative as 30 stocks gained against 58 stocks that declined in their share prices.

TOP 10 GAINERS

TANTALIZER led other gainers in the course of last week with 36.32% growth, closing at N2.59 from the previous close of N1.90.

UHOMREIT, Livestock Feeds, LEARNAFRICA, and NGXGROUP grew their share prices by 28.59%, 12.38%, 10.00%and 10.10% respectively.

Other top 10 gainers include: SCOA 9.88%, EUNISELL 9.69%, SMURFIT 9.09%, C & I Leasing 8.11% and GUINNESS 7.97% respectively.

TOP 10 LOSERS

ETERNA OIL led other price decliners, shedding 18.59% of its share price to close at N34.15 from the previous close of N42.00.

TRANSCORP, FCMB, Royal Exchange and Sovereign Trust Insurance shed their share prices by 17.72%, 14.15%, 13.33% and 13.16% respectively.

Other price decliners include: CAVERTON (11.86%), Ikeja Hotel (11.57%), UCAP (10.14%), Redstar Express (10.00%) and MULTIVERSE (9.74%) respectively.
