Dangote Cement posted N200.52bn Profit after Tax, proposes N16 dividend to shareholders

Dangote Cement on Wednesday released it’s full year audited financial report for the period ended 31 December, 2019.

The manufacturing giant reported a turnover of N891.67 billion, down by 1.06%, when compared to the turnover of N901.2 billion in 2018.

Finance cost in 2019 rose by 15.86% which affected the profitability of the firm in the year under review.

Profit before tax (PBT) closed lower by 16.73% to settle at N250.48 billion from the previous PBT of N300.81 billion.

The firm made a Profit after tax of N200.52 billion, down by 48.63% when compared to N390.33 billion reported in 2018.

The earnings per share(EPS) of Dangote Cement stands at N11.77, down by 48.63% from the EPS of N22.91 in 2018.

With reference to the share price of N170, the P.E ratio of Dangote Cement stands at 14.44x with earnings yield of 6.92%.

The proposed dividend payout of N16 brings the dividend yield of Dangote Cement to 9.4%

According to the information available on the website of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, Dangote Cement will pay a dividend of N16, subject to the appropriate witholding tax and approval to shareholders whose name appear in the register of members as at the close of business on May 25, 2020.

Closure of register is May 26, 2020.
Payment date is in June 16, 2020.
