DANGCEM Declines Half Year Turnover by 3.05% in 2019

The largest cement production company in Africa, with a market capitalization of almost US$14 billion on the Nigeria Stock Exchange, has subsidiaries in Benin, Cameroon, Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa and Zambia posted on the 29th July, 2019 a marginal decline of 3.05% to settle at N467.7bn turnover for the half year Financial results ended June 30th, 2019 away from N482.4bn recorded same period in 2018.

The bottom-line figures of DANGOTE CEMENT PLC was also down by 16.20% to stand at N155.4bn below N185.5bn of 2018 while its profit after tax (PAT) rose by 5.37% year on year from N113bn to about N119bn in the current period.

Consequently, the company’s earnings per share grew by 5% from N6.64 in 2018 to N7.00 in the current period under review, with a large outstanding number of shares running to over 17 billion.

As at the released day the price earnings ratio stood at 24.29x with N170.00 as the reference price while the company’s earnings yield stood at 4.12%.
