CBN takes savings campaign to schools

The Central Bank of Nigeria with the Bankers Committee has taken its savings culture awareness campaign to 80,809 students in 642 schools across 565 local governments in the country.

This was done, according to a statement, as they joined the rest of the world to commemorate the World Savings Day.

It stated that the event had the theme, ‘Savings give life a lift’, and aimed to increase public awareness and empower them with information of building a good savings culture, both for their financial future, as well as encouraging a sense of discipline and planning.

The statement said, “The initiative also encompasses the CBN and the Bankers Committee’s drive to bridge financial literacy and inclusion, particularly for children in Nigeria.”
