Trading on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) last week closed bullish as most of the high cap stocks closed the week higher, thereby gaining N2.161 trillion, week on week.
The All-Share Index and Market capitalization grew by 2.37% to settle at 146,988.04 points and N93.296 trillion respectively. Year to date, the market has returned 42.81%.
A total of 2.286 billion units of shares worth N91.136 billion in 138,301 deals were traded last week by investors on the floor of the Exchange.
Fifty-one (51) equities appreciated in price during the week, lower than fifty-three (53) equities in the previous week. Forty-one (41) equities depreciated in price, lower than forty-three (43) equities in the previous week, while fifty-five (55) equities remained unchanged, higher than fifty-one (51) recorded in the previous week.
All the other indices finished higher with the exception of NGX Banking, NGX AseM and NGX AFR Bank Value Indices which depreciated by 0.41%, 9.44%, and 1.00% respectively.
TOP 10 GAINERS
Sovereign Trust Insurance led other gainers in the course of last week with 16.76% growth, closing at N3.21 from the previous close of N2.75.
OMATEK, MANSARD, CHAMS and EUNISELL grew their share prices by 12.30%, 11.81%, 11.69% and 11.39% respectively.
Other top 10 gainers include: CUTIX 11.11%, MTN Nigeria 10.82%, SEPLAT 10.00%, SFSREIT 9.97% and DEAPCAP 9.76% respectively.
TOP 10 LOSERS
Living Trust Insurance led other price decliners, shedding 14.61% of its share price to close at N5.20 from the previous close of N6.09.
NEIMETH, UHOMREIT, MEYER and JULI grew their share prices by 10.96%, 9.98%, 9.85% and 9.60% respectively.
Other price decliners include: PZ (8.51%), HMCALL (7.21%), THOMASWYAT (7.10%), ETRANZACT (6.25%) and ABC Transport (5.81%) respectively.
