Catherine Nwosu made history in the corporate world as the first female Managing Director, Chief Executive Officer at Africa Prudential Plc, and has been since March 12, 2024, that’s no small feat and it’s very remarkable. Her journey is one of grit, determination, and a whole lot of hard work. So, let’s take a closer look at her education, background, and the incredible things she’s achieved during her career.

Starting with her education, Catherine is no stranger to the pursuit of knowledge. She earned her Masters’ degree in Business Administration, Marketing and Management from Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma. Catherine holds a degree in Management Science, Banking and Finance from University of Education, Winneba, Ghana. She is an alumna of the Senior Management Program at the Lagos Business School which really helped her gain robust understanding of business dynamics. You know, having that blend of academic knowledge and practical experience can be a game-changer.

Catherine grew up in a family that valued education and hard work. This upbringing instilled in her a strong sense of determination. Catherine was always driven, it’s like she always knew she was destined for something big. She began her career in the financial sector, worked in various capacities prior to joining Africa Prudential Plc where she honed her skills and developed a knack for strategic thinking. Over the years, she climbed the corporate ladder, taking on various roles that allowed her to showcase her leadership abilities. It wasn’t always easy, but she persevered.

Catherine Nwosu is a seasoned Capital Market Executive currently serving as the 2nd Vice President at the Institute of Capital Market Registrars (ICMR). Nwosu has immense working experience in both retail and investment banking. She is a member of professional bodies which include among others, the chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN). Certified Pension Institute of Nigeria (CIPN) and Institute of Cost Management of Nigeria (ACCM), a Fellow of the Institute of Capital Market Registrars, an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.

Nwosu brings a wealth of experience to Africa Prudential PLC as its M.D, having served in key positions within the company since its inception in 2006, notably as Chief Operating Officer (COO) from 2010 to 2022. Nwosu embodies the commitment to excellence that defines Africa Prudential PLC.

Currently trading at N13.50, the share price of Africa Prudential Plc has touched a high of N18.15 from a low of N4.50 in the past 52 weeks. It is trading 25.62% away from its 52 weeks high of N18.15. A position in Africa Prudential has an uptrend potential of 25.62%. The Company grew significantly grew its topline and bottom-line figure in Q3 2025 financial report. Profit after tax grew by 53.47% year on year to N2.05 billion from N1.34 billion profit reported in Q3 2024.
