Wole Olajide
Bayo Olugbemi is a highly experienced investment banker, leader and achiever, who rose from a humble beginning to become a successful player in Nigeria’s financial services sector. With the philosophy of diligence, perseverance and resilience, Bayo stands tall among his peers in investment banking and a force to reckon with in The Nigerian Capital Market.
Currently the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of First Registrars & Investor Services Limited, he effectively combines professional performances with spiritual calling. Bayo is the Pastor in Charge of Lagos Province 21 of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), My Father’s House, Magodo, Lagos with Mission Fields in The Pacific Island Republic of Vanuatu Near Australia.
He holds a Bsc in Accounting from the University of Lagos, Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Lagos State University and a Master of Science Degree (Msc) in Corporate Governance from Leeds Metropolitan University, UK. An Alumnus of the prestigious Harvard Business School, Stanford Business School, Wharton Business School, INSEAD France, IMD Lausene Switzerland and Lagos Business School, Bayo is privileged to have attended several Strategic, Management and Leadership training programmes both locally and overseas.
He is presently the President/Chairman of Governing Council of the Institute of Capital Market Registrars (ICMR), Second Vice President of The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) and Treasurer of Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the oldest Chamber movement in Nigeria.
Bayo was a two term Chairman of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), Lagos State Branch, Immediate Past President of Jericho Businessmen Club, and Chairman or Board Member of various Non-Governmental Organisations such as Youth Rescue and Care Initiatives, Hope Renaissance Initiative, Bayo Olugbemi Education Foundation and Olufunke Kikelomo Olugbemi Cancer Foundation.
Having to combine spiritual work as Pastor in Charge of Province in RCCG (with about 130 Parishes spread across Lagos & Ogun States in Nigeria and in the South Pacific Nation of Vanuatu) with secular job, operating at the level of Managing Director and Board member of several companies is a feat that can only be attained through diligence and divine assistance.
Actively involved in several adhoc and standing committees of Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC), the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Central Securities Clearing Systems, Institute of Capital Market Registrars, Institute of Directors Nigeria, Lagos Chamber of Commerce to mention but a few, this gentle man still devotes time for God who he ultimately claims to be his success factor.
An experienced trainer in Leadership, Management, Corporate Governance and Ethics, Business Formation, Capital Market Development and Share Registration, Bayo is also a seasoned inspirational & motivational speaker.
