The Western equivalent is Athena, the goddess of wisdom.

The importance of the powerful patroness of ancient Greece, the goddess of art Athena, was so great that the Romans borrowed this image and named the new goddess Minerva. She is almost always referred to as the daughter of Zeus, and periodically she adopts the ancient epithet of Tritogeneus, i.e. born of Triton, or "bubbling stream". Such an origin should have made her a daughter of the depths rather than the heights of Olympus. This association was first born in Homer, who believed that everyone — gods and goddesses, people and animals — descended from the very first, the primordial god of the seas Oceanus. As the goddess of wisdom and justice, Athena is often depicted with a shield and spear in her left hand, which allows her to administer justice firmly and patronizingly. An owl sits on her right hand, balancing the symbols of power and strength with moderation and wisdom.

There are no strict rules for dreams, but it has often been revealed to me, as well as to the wonderful and great teachers before me, that the appearance of an owl in dreams is a hint from the subconscious mind to the one who sees this dream, that it advises a softer and wiser approach to a life situation. This is exactly the role Athena usually plays in mythical tales, the role of a calm mediator, while everyone around her - people and gods - is prone to thoughtless actions in solving their problems.
Athena has several mythological relatives. For example, in Egypt, her characteristic features were attributed to Maat, the daughter of Ra. The hieroglyph denoting her name is a pictogram depicting an ostrich feather standing erect, with the help of which, before the soul was allowed to enter into the afterlife, the hearts of the deceased were weighed in order to determine whether there were still sins in it. If the heart was heavier than the feather of Maat, the scales deviated in an unfavorable direction for the person, and the soul went to hell in its Egyptian version, so that the grave sins would come out of it with sweat and blood. Later in Christianity, this place was called "purgatory".

The minuscule size of conscience and prudence in a person's life can cause a feeling similar to weighing a heart on a scale with an ostrich feather. The first part of Jung's individualization corresponds to this myth. Here, the process of educating a dark personality is perceived as a modern Maat, revealing dark spots in the subconscious of every person. This process, painful at first, subsequently significantly improves and enriches the life of both the one who makes such attempts and the life of society as a whole.

In various guises, the archetype of Athena has penetrated through the centuries and appeared again and again, for example, in the form of Libra, the zodiac sign, which is often described as two balancing bowls. The medieval astrologer Pierre d'Ailly noticed: "Libra is a human sign, a sign of the Liberator of people, a sign of a prudent, just and spiritual nature."

We also see Athena as a blind statue of justice with scales in one hand and a sword in the other, silently watching and hopefully inspiring what is happening in many courthouses around the world.
