Access Bank-Venia conference to hold Thursday

Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo is billed to deliver a keynote address at the 2018 edition of the Access Bank-Venia Co-working Conference.

According to a statement, the co-working conference is an annual gathering of innovators, entrepreneurs and investors, organised by Venia Business Hub, in collaboration with Access Bank Plc.

It said the event would hold in Lagos on Thursday.

The Chief Executive Officer, Venia Business Hub, Kola Oyeneyin, who is also the creator of the Coworking Conference Nigeria, said Osibanjo would be interacting with entrepreneurs, who he described as the builders and shapers of Nigeria through their various ideas and platforms.

Oyeneyin said, “We are glad that the Vice President, whose mantra since he took office has been “nation building through innovation”, will be collaborating with entrepreneurs in the true spirit of co-working.

“The entrepreneurial ecosystem in Nigeria has seen a fundamental shift since the emergence of co-working and technology hubs, with many successful entrepreneurs tracing their startup story and locations to co-working spaces across Nigeria, including Eskimi, Accounteer, Taxify, Branch International and AutoGenius.

“We are happy to see various stakeholders embracing co-working and leveraging its possibilities to drive entrepreneurship. Lagos State’s ‘Lagos Innovates’ is one such example of the response to co-working conference, and we expect to see much more exciting collaborations and initiatives by various ecosystem enablers.”

According to Oyeneyin, since inception in 2011, the co-working movement has continued to gain momentum, with a surge in the rise of co-working spaces across the country and with the government’s emphasis on driving technology and innovation as a means of driving economic growth.
