Stock market rises by 0.62%

The Nigerian stock market on Monday closed higher as the All Share Index rose by 0.62% to close at 98,215.13 points from the previous close of 97,606.63 points.

The Market Capitalisation appreciated by 6.10% as an oil and gas company get listed to close at N59.510 trillion from the previous close of N56.088 trillion, thereby adding N3.42 trillion.

An aggregate of 305 million units of shares were traded in 8,083 deals, valued at N19.7 billion.

The Market Breadth closed negative as 20 equities emerged as gainers against 31 equities that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

WAPIC led other gainers with 10.00% growth to close at N0.88 from the previous close of 0.80

THE INITIATES, Consolidated Hallmark and MECURE among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.74%, 9.35% and 8.91% respectively.

Percentage Losers

VITAFOAM led other price decliners as it shed 9.09% of its share price to close at N20.00 from the previous close of N22.00.

TANTALIZER and Integrated Energy Insurance among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 8.33% and 6.37% respectively.

Volume Drivers

Zenith Bank traded about 34 million units of its shares in 397 deals, valued at N1.28 billion.

UBA traded about 34 million units of its shares in 850 deals, valued at N897.8 million.

ARADEL HOLDING PLC traded about 19 million units of its shares in 174 deals, valued at N14.46 billion.
