The Senate has approved the N6.2 trillion amendment to the 2024 Appropriation Act, raising 2024 budget from N28.7 trillion to N35.055 trillion.
The amendment for capital and recurrent are for key infrastructure projects omitted in the 2024 appropriation and for the newly passed N70,000 national minimum wage.
The amendment sought by President Bola Tinubu in his letter last week was N6.2 trillion.
The N35.5 trillion passed shows an increase of N600bn.
President Tinubu had last Wednesday, requested the Senate to amend the 2024 Appropriation Act, and the 2023 Finance Act by increasing the budget with N6.2tn.
