The Nigerian stock market closed higher last week, driven by gains in the prices of high cap stocks such as NESTLE, SEPLAT, MTN Nigeria among others.
The All Share Index and Market capitalization grew by 1.51% to settle at 52,973.88 and N28.845 trillion respectively.
An aggregate of 1.96 billion units of shares were traded in 30,827 deals, valued at N33.899 billion.
The market breadth closed positive as 60 stocks gained against 21 stocks that declined in their share prices.
TOP 10 GAINERS
FTN Cocoa led other gainers last week with 54.55% growth, closing at N0.68 from the previous close of N0.44.
RTBRISCOE, CHAMS, TRIPPLEG and University Press grew their share prices by 40.74%, 36.67%, 32.20% and 20.32% respectively.
Other top 10 gainers include: GLAXOSMITH 18.75%, Ikeja Hotel 18.23%, TRANSCORP 16.29%, UACN 15.48% and LASACO 14.84% respectively.
TOP 10 LOSERS
Sovereign Trust Insurance led other price decliners, shedding 20.00% of its share price to close at N0.36 from the previous close of N0.45.
CHELLARAM, ARDOVA, Royal Exchange and NEIMETH shed 18.78%, 13.90%, 7.69% and 7.33% respectively.
Other price decliners include: OANDO (5.08%), UPDCREIT (4.48%), Ecobank (2.44%), BUACEMENT (2.22%) and ETERNA OIL (2.10%) respectively.
