Investors gain N45bn as NGXASI advances by 0.16%

The Nigerian equity market on Thursday closed higher as the All Share Index advanced by 0.16% to settle at 52,290.75 points from the previous close of 52,207.77 points.

Investors gained 45 billion as the Market Capitalisation was up by 0.16% to close at N28.472 trillion from the previous close of N28.427 trillion.

An aggregate of 1.27 billion units of shares were traded in 5,963 deals, valued at N7 billion.

The Market Breadth closed positive as 32 equities appreciated in their share prices against 18 equities that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

Mutual Benefits led the gainers with 10.00% growth to close at N0.33 from the previous close of N0.30

Nem Insurance, CWG and ARDOVA among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.64%, 9.09% and 8.47% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Linkage Assurance led price decliners’ table as it shed 9.43% of its share price to close at N0.48 from the previous close of N0.53.

MCNICHOLS, Redstar Express and University Press among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 8.86%, 8.73% and 8.29% respectively.

Volume Drivers

TRANSCORP traded about 311 million units of its shares in 483 deals, valued at about N723.9 million.

ACCESSCORP traded about 219 million units of its shares in 930 deals, valued at about N2.35 billion.

Zenith Bank traded about 24.9 million units of its shares in 426 deals, valued at N597 million.
