Nigerian Bourse declines again, closes 0.07% lower

It was a bearish session on the floor of the Nigerian stock market on Wednesday as the All Share Index dipped further by 0.07% to close at 52,721.34 points against the previous close of 52,756.62 points on Tuesday.

The market capitalisation closed at N28.423 trillion, shedding 19 billion from N28.442 trillion recorded in the last session.

An aggregate of 611.97 million units of shares were traded in 5,948 deals, valued at N7.4 billion.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed negative as 21 stocks gained against 23 that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

MCNICHOLS with 9.94% growth, led the gainers table to close at N1.77 from the previous close of N1.61.

Transcorp Hotel and Champion Breweries among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.84% and 7.03% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Academy Press, Berger Paints and NEIMETH among other stocks shed their share prices by 9.93%, 8.86%, and 8.57% respectively.

Volume Drivers

FBNH traded about 153 million units of its shares in 246 deals, valued at about N1.897 billion.

GTCO traded about 66 million units of its shares in 309 deals, valued at about N1.577 billion.

FCMB traded about 43 million units of its shares in 99 deals, valued at N152 million.
