The Nigerian stock market on Wednesday halted five straight days of losses to close on a positive note. The All Share Index grew by 0.28% to close at 47,287.09 points from the previous close of 47,154.35 points.
Investors gained N71 billion as the Market Capitalisation was up by 0.28% to close at N25.485 trillion from the previous close of N25.414 trillion.
An aggregate of 336.305 million units of shares were traded in 5,248 deals, valued at N5.8 billion.
The Market Breadth closed positive as 30 equities gained against 12 equities that declined in their share prices.
Percentage Gainers
PRESCO led other gainers with 10% growth to close at N114.95 from N104.50 it closed yesterday.
PHARMADEKO and Linkage Assurance among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.89% and 9.80% respectively.
Percentage Losers
ELLAH LAKES led other price decliners as it shed 9.92% of its share price to close at N3.45 from the previous close of 3.83.
May & Baker and NEIMETH among other price decliners also shed 9.91% and 9.34% of their share prices respectively.
Volume Drivers
FBNH traded about 109 million units of its shares in just 214 deals, valued at about N1.25 billion.
GTCO traded about 54 million units of its shares in 384 deals, valued at N1.4 billion.
UCAP traded about 25 million units of its shares in 313 deals, valued at N308.5 million.
