The Nigerian stock market on Wednesday closed on a bearish note as the All Share Index dips further by 0.05% to close at 38,852.69 points from the previous close of 38,873.85 points.
The Market Capitalisation declined by 0.05% to close at N20.243 trillion from the previous close of N20.254 trillion, thereby shedding N11 billion.
An aggregate of 155.77 million units of shares were traded in 3,256 deals, valued at N1.51 billion.
The Market Breadth closed negative as 13 equities appreciated in their share prices against 17 equities that declined in their share prices.
Percentage Gainers
Transcorp Hotel led other gainers with 10% growth, closing at N15.2 from the previous close of N13.85.
Phamadeko, Conoil and Cornerstone Insurance among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.88%, 9.84% and 8.16% respectively.
Percentage Losers
Veritas Kapita Assurance led other price decliners as it shed 8.70% of its share price, closing at N0.21 from the previous close of N0.23.
UCAP, Chams Plc and Access Bank among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 5%, 4.55% and 3.37% respectively.
Volume Drivers
Universal Insurance traded about 19.04 million units of its shares in 8 deals, valued at N3.81 million.
UBA traded about 18.78 million units of its shares in 165 deals valued at N517.86 million.
Zenith Bank traded about 11.76 million units of its shares in 370 deals, valued at N268.83 million.
