Stock market sheds N2bn as NGXASI dips by 0.01%

The Nigerian stock market on Wednesday closed on a bearish note as the All Share Index declined by 0.01% to close at 39,545.67 points from the previous close of 39,550.36 points.

The Market Capitalization declined by 0.01% to close at N20.604 trillion from the previous close of N20.606 trillion, thereby shedding N2 billion.

An aggregate of 132.077 million units of shares were traded in 3,307 deals, valued at N2.67 billion.

The Market Breadth closed positive as 19 equities appreciated in their share prices against 17 equities that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

Pharmadeko led other gainers with 10% growth, closing at N1.43 from the previous close of N1.3.

BOC Gases and Honeywell Flour among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.78% and 9.72% respectively.

Percentage Losers

SCOA Plc led other price decliners as it shed 9.66% of its share price, closing at N1.59 from the previous close of N1.76.

Prestige Assurance, Regency Assurance and Mutual Benefit Assurance among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 8.33%, 6.98% and 5.71% respectively.

Volume Drivers

Transcorp traded about 14.14 million units of its shares in 86 deals, valued at N13.53 million.

Chams Plc traded 14.07 million units of its shares in 56 deals valued at N2.91 million.

Zenith Bank traded about 8.51 million units of its shares in 264 deals, valued at N206.23 million.
