Nigerian Bourse sheds N138bn, closes 0.91% lower

Trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange closed on a negative note as the All Share Index declined by 0.91% to settle at 29,110.90 points against the previous close of 29,378.63 points on Tuesday.

 

The market capitalisation declined by 0.91% to close at N14.995 trillion, against the previous close of N15.133 trillion, thereby shedding N138 billion.

 

Aggregate volume of traded stocks declined by 3.26% to close at 242.76 million units against the previous close of 250.9 million units on Tuesday.

 

Value of traded stocks declined by 4.91% to close at 4.59, from the previous close of N4.8 billon

Total number of deals at the close of trade was 3,556, down by 22.03% against the previous close of 4,561 deals.

Market Breadth

The market Breadth closed negative as 10 stocks gained while 18 stocks declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainer

LASACO led other percentage gainers with 7.69% growth to close at N0.28 from the previous close N0.26.

AIICO and Flourmills among other gainers also grew their share prices by 6.33% and 5.67% respectively.

 

Percentage Losers

BOC Gas led other price decliners, shedding its share price by 9.09% to close at N4.50 from the previous N4.95.

NEM Insurance, Mansard and WAPIC Insurance among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 8.33%, 6.10% and 5.41% respectively.

Volume Driver

Zenith Bank traded about 46.57 million units of its shares in 414 deals, valued at N980.7 million.

Unilever traded about 25 million units of its shares in 107 deals, valued at N375.3 million.

Guaranty Trust Bank traded about 24.3 million units of its shares in 249 deals, valued at N740 million.
