Nigerian Market slides, closes 1.64% lower, Monday

The Nigerian Bourse on Monday declined from the previous trading session as the All Share Index fell by 1.64% to close at 30,531.69 points as against 31,041.42 points of the last trading session.

Market capitalization also dipped by 1.29% to settle at N11.522 trillion below N11.672 trillion recorded on Friday, indicating a loss of N150 billion.

Volume and value of traded stocks grew by 546.06% and 16.65% to stand at 1.7 million units and N3.6 billion respectively.

 

Market Breadth

12 stocks closed positive higher and 19 that closed lower, bringing the market breadth to a negative round off.

Percentage Gainers

MCNICHOLS led other percentage gainers closing 10.00% above it previous close of N0.70 to settle at N0.77

Julius Berger grew 9.70%, while Ikeja Hotel and Caverton gained 9.57% and 8.84% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Union Diagnotic tops the losers’ chart, losing 10.00% of its share price.

Others in this category are: Beta Glass, Dangote Flour, CCNN, Oando, all shedding not less than 9.00% of their share prices.

Volume Drivers

Wema Bank traded the highest volume of about 1.4 billion units of its shares in 97 deals, valued at about N1.048 billion
