Trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange closed lower on Tuesday, bringing the market to its second straight loss for the week as the All Share Index declined 0.40% closing at 36,333.80 points as against the previous close of 36,479.42 points.
Market capitalisation also fell by 0.40% closing at N13.262 trillion, as against N13.315 trillion of the previous trading session implying a loss of N53 billion
Volume and value of traded stocks appreciated by 36.07% and 10.43%, to close at 248 million units and N2.2 billion respectively.
Market Breadth
22 stocks closed positive while 21 stocks lost, bringing the market breadth to a positive round off.
Percentage Gainers
Livestock Feeds, UCAP and Air service led other price percentage gainers, each closing 10.00% above the previous close of N0.60, N2.80 and N4.50 to settle at N0.66, N3.08 and N4.95 respectively, ahead of other 19 stocks that made it to the green.
Percentage Losers
CAP Plc tops the losers’ table, shedding 10.00% of its share price. This is followed by Mutual Benefits and SEPLAT both lost 8.82% and 8.45% respectively, among other stocks on the losers’ table.
Volume Drivers
Wema Bank recorded the highest volume of traded stocks on Tuesday, trading about 53.5 million units of its shares.
Guaranty traded about 23.4 million units in 146 deals, worth about N925 million.
