Stock market extends gains, advances 0.83%, Tuesday

 

The Nigerian bourse on Tuesday extends gains from the previous trading session of Monday advancing by 0.83% as the All Share Index closed at 39,167.04 points as against the previous close of 38,844.32 points.

The market capitalisation appreciated by 0.83% closing at N14.188 trillion from the previous close of N14.071 trillion, gaining N117 billion.

Traded volume declined by 43.39% closing at 341.48 million units, while the value of traded stocks grew by 33.57% to settle at N5.19 billion away from N389 billion of the last trading session.

 

Market Breadth

Market breadth closed positive as 27 stocks gained while 22 stocks lost

Percentage Gainers

Seplat led other percentage gainers closing 8.14% above its previous close of N711.1 to close at N769

Mobil grew 4.99% and NEM Insurance grew 4.80% ahead other stocks like Equity Assurance, Unity Bank and UCAP

Percentage Losers

PRESTIGE tops the losers chart shedding 4.69% of its share price; while Eterna Oil and Airservice both shed 4.48% and 4.26% respectively

Volume Drivers

Guaranty Trust Bank traded about 45 million units of its shares in 286 deals worth about N1.9 billion. Dangote Sugar traded about 58 million units of its shares in 157 deals, valued at 1.185 billion.
