Unilever led other 25 stocks to help bourse stay 0.22% afloat

 

The Nigerian Bourse, Tuesday extended gains from the previous session as the All Share Index rose 0.22% percent to close at 43,609.77 points as against 43,513.93 points of the previous trading session.

As a result, investors gained about N34billion as market capitalisation advanced to N15.666 trillion as against N15.632 trillion of the previous trading session.

Trading activities were upbeat as volume and value traded grew 76.75

percent and 3.8 percent to settle at 445.501 million units and N5.963 billion respectively.

Market Breadth

26 stocks closed positive against 29 that lost.

Unilever led other percentage gainers closing 10.17% above the previous close of N54.1, to settle at N59.6. Carverton grew 9.88% and Japaul Oil grew 8.70% ahead stocks like A.G Leventis, Consolidated Hallmark Insurance, Dansugar, Flourmills, Unity Bank and Union Bank.

Percentage Gainers

In the Banking sector, Unity Bank outperformed other banks on the gainers list closing 4.55% above the previous close of N1.76 settling at N1.84. Union Bank grew by 4.26% closing at N7.35 as against N7.05. Other banks on the gainers list include Diamond, Fidelity, UBA and Zenith respectively.

Percentage Losers

Regalins  tops the losers’ chart losing 9.09% of its share price, while Multiverse and Wema both shed 7.41% and 5% respectively.

Zenith emerged the best stock for the day trading 37.8 million units of its shares in 432 deals, worth about N1.18 billion.
