UBA proposes 17 kobo dividend to shareholders, declares N44.43bn profit in H1’20

The much anticipated second quarter result of United Bank for Africa was published on Monday, 1st of September, 2020. The tier one bank proposed an interim dividend of 17 kobo to its shareholders.

UBA achieved Gross Earnings of N300.257 billion in the first half of 2020, up by 2.24% when compared to the Gross Earnings of N293.690 billion achieved in H1’19.

Profit after tax (PAT) of N44.43 billion was reported in H1’20, down by 21.69% from the PAT of N56.739 billion.

Earnings per share (EPS) for the period under review is N1.30, down by 21.69% from the EPS of N1.66.

With reference to the share price of N6.55, the P.E ratio of UBA is estimated as 5.04x with earnings yield of 19.83%.
