Seplat, Mutual Benefit led 29 other stocks to help bourse stay 0.84% afloat

The Nigerian Bourse on Monday opened the week with great optimism the All Share Index grew further by 0.84% closing at 36,946.18 points from the previous close of 36,636.97 points.

Market capitalisation appreciated by 0.84% closing at N13.384 trillion from the previous close of N13.272 trillion thereby gaining N112 billion.

Volume of traded stocks appreciated by 2.58% closing at 319.4 million units; while value declined by 12.60% to close at N3.048 billion.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed positive as 31 stocks gained as against 22 stocks that lost

Percentage Gainers

Seplat and Mutual Benefit Assurance led other percentage gainers as they both gained 10% respectively. Seplat closed at N N687.5 from the previous close of N625. Mutual Benefit Assurance closed at 33Kobo from 30 kobo.

Northern Nigerian Flour Mills grew 9.92%, Neimeth and Oando both gained 9.52% while Union Diagnostics gained 9.09% ahead other stocks on the gainers’ chart.

Percentage Losers

Pharmadeko and Conoil both led the losers’ shedding 10% of their share prices.

Med View Airline and Red Star Express Plc also shed 9.81% and 9.68% respectively among other stocks on the losers’ chart.

Volume Drivers

Nestle traded about 806 thousand units of its shares valued at N1.21 billion in 45 deals. Medview Airline traded about 100 million units of its shares valued at N193 million.

Sterling Bank traded about 34 million units of its shares in 445 deals, valued at 47 million. UBA also traded 32.5 million units of its shares in 180 deals valued at N316 million.
