NSEASI halts 8 straight days of gains, closes 0.15% lower, Wednesday

The Nigerian Bourse on Wednesday closed in red as the All Share Index dropped marginally by 0.15% to close at 32,413.92 points against the previous close of 32,462.31 points on Tuesday.

Market Capitalisation closed at N12.088 trillion, shedding N18 billion from the previous close of   N12.106 trillion on Tuesday.

Aggregate volume and value of traded stocks declined by 18.95% and 47.20% to close at 470.4 million units and N4.24 billion respectively.

 Market Breadth

Market breadth closed negative with 19 gainers against 22 losers.

Percentage Gainers

Berger Paints and Unilever with 10% growth both led the percentage gainers’ chart to close at N8.25 and N44 respectively.

Unity Bank grew by 9.47% to close at N1.04 from the previous close of N0.95 while Jaiz Bank and Livestock Feeds both grew their share prices by 9.09% respectively.

C&I Leasing led other percentage losers, shedding 9.95% of its share price to close at N7.33 from the previous close of N8.14.

Champion Breweries, PZ and UCAP among others on the decliners’ list shed 9.55%, 9.43% and 9.09% of their share prices respectively.

Volume Drivers

  • Diamond Bank traded about 131 million units of its shares in 75 deals valued at N314.36 million.
  • Zenith Bank traded about 44.1 million units of its shares in 518 deals, valued at about N1.098 billion.
