Nigerian stock market dips further, closes 0.17% lower, Friday

Trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Friday closed in red as the All Share Index declined further by 0.17% to close at 28,847.81 points against the previous close of 28,896.25 points on Thursday.

Market capitalisation closed at N10.842 trillion, shedding N18 billion from the previous close of N10.860 trillion on Thursday.

Aggregate volume of traded stocks for the day was 235 million units, valued at N1.36 billion in 3,130 deals.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed negative as 13 stocks gained while 27 stocks lost.

Percentage Gainers

Sovereign Trust Insurance, NEM Insurance and Prestige Assurance Plc among other gainers grew their share prices by 8.70%, 7.76% and 6.38% respectively.

Percentage Losers

ABC Transport tops the decliners’ list, shedding 10% of its share price to close at N0.27 from the previous close of N0.30.

Seplat and Africa Prudential Plc among others on the decliners’ list also shed their share prices by 9.98% and 9.92% respectively.

Volume Drivers

Zenith Bank traded about 16.6 million units of its shares in 448 deals, valued at N332.8 million.
