Nigerian stock market dips further by 0.35%, Thursday

Trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Thursday closed on a negative note as the All Share Index declined further by 0.35% to close at 27,990.61 points against the previous close of 28,088.74 points on Wednesday.

Market capitalisation closed at N13.641 trillion, shedding N48 billion from the previous close of N13.689 trillion.

Aggregate volume of traded stocks for the day was 359.1 million units, valued at N1.89 billion in 3,099 deals.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed negative as 15 stocks gained while 16 stocks declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

FCMB with 8.81% growth led other gainers to close at N1.73 from the previous close of N1.59.

Chams Plc, Flour Mills and NEM Insurance among other gainers also grew their share prices by 8.00%, 6.07% and 5.77% respectively.

Percentage Losers

WAPIC Insurance led the price decliners’ list, shedding 10% of its share price to close at N0.36 from the previous close of N0.40.

Global Spectrum Energy Services Plc, Morison Industries Plc and Caverton among other price decliners shed their share prices by 9.57%, 9.09%, and 8.95% respectively.

Volume Drivers

UBA traded about 35.7 million units of its shares in 257 deals, valued at N200.55 million.
