Nigerian Bourse gains N32bn as ASI advances by 0.25%

The Nigerian stock market on Tuesday closed again higher as the All Share Index (ASI) advanced by 0.25% to settle at 25,291.78 points from the previous close of 25,229.12 points on Monday.

Market capitalization grew by 0.24% to close at N13.194 trillion from the previous close of N13.162 trillion, adding N32 billion.

An aggregate of 246 million units of shares were traded in 3,636 deals, valued at N1.142 billion.

 

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed negative as 15 equities appreciated in their share prices against 20 equities that declined in their share prices.

 

Percentage Gainers

Nem Insurance led other gainers with 9.63% growth to close at N2.05 from Monday’s close of  N1.87.

Wapic, Japaul Oil and Jaiz Bank among other gainers also grew their share prices by 6.25%, 4.76% and 3.51% respectively.

 

Percentage Losers

Beta Glass led price decliners chart as it shed 9.99% of its share price to close at N55.40 from the previous close of N61.55.

May & Baker, ARBICO and C & I Leasing among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 9.90%, 9.52% and 9.09% respectively.

 

Volume Drivers

TRANSCORP traded about 95 million units of its shares in 315 deals, valued at about N52 million.

UBA traded about 33 million units of its shares in 249 deals, valued at N216 million.

Zenith Bank traded about 10 million units of its shares in 291 deals, valued at N176 million.
