Nigerian Market fell 0.06% as 35 stocks closed negative, Wednesday

The Nigerian Stock market closes lower in an all red session for the day, as the All Share Index declines 0.06% to close at 37,963.93 points as against the previous close of 37,988.54 points on Tuesday.

Market capitalisation also declined by 0.07% to settle at N13.752 trillion as against N13.761 trillion of the last trading session, shedding N9 billion.

Other market indicators dropped as the total traded volume and value of shares declined by 31.02% and 32.51%, settling at 372.239 million units and N3.179 billion respectively.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed negative as 12 stocks gained against 35 that lost.

Percentage Gainers


C&I Leasing led other percentage gainers closing 4.66% above the previous close of N1.93 to settle at N2.02
Unity Bank grew 4.49% and Transcorp plc grew 4.38% ahead other stocks on the gainers’ chart.

Percentage Losers

Japaul Oil tops the losers’ chart losing 7.32% of its share price. ETERNA shed 5.04%, while First Aluminum and Prestige Assurance both shed 5% respectively

Volume Drivers

The most actively traded stock of the day is Zenith Bank, trading about 172 million units of its shares in 430 deals, worth about N792 Million.
