Nigerian equities market grew further by 0.08%, Tuesday

The Nigerian equities market on Tuesday closed on a positive note as the All Share Index rose further by 0.08% to close at 27,586.79 points from the previous close of 27,565.09 points on Monday.

Market capitalisation closed at N13.421 trillion, gaining N11 billion from the previous close of N13.410 trillion on Monday.

Aggregate volume of traded stocks closed at 294.4 million units, valued at N3.496 billion in 3,337 deals.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed negative as 13 stocks gained while 18 stocks declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

International Breweries Plc led the gainers’ list, gaining 10% of its share price to close at N11.00 from the previous close of N10.00

Cornerstone Insurance and Continental Reinsurance among others also grew their share prices by 8.70% and 8.67% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Tripple Gee, Sterling Bank, UAC Properties and LASACO among other price decliners also shed 9.52%, 8.00%, 6.82% and 6.67% of their share prices respectively.

 

Volume Drivers

  • UAC Properties traded about 61.66 million units of its shares in 19 deals, valued at N50.6 million.
  • Access Bank traded about 55.14 million units of its shares in 127 deals, valued at N369.36 million.
  • Guaranty Trust Bank traded about 52 million units of its shares in 302 deals, valued at N1.4 billion.
