Nigerian Bourse dips further, closes 0.60% lower

For the third straight session this week, trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange has been on a downward trend. The All Share Index on Wednesday declined 0.60% to close at 35,074.82 points from the previous close of 35,288.23 points.

Market capitalisation closed at 12.805trillion, declining by 0.61% from the previous close of N12.883 trillion.

Volume of traded stocks appreciated by 27.37%, closing at 209.54 million units. Value of traded stocks also grew by 80.07%, closing at N2.9 billion from the previous close of N1.6 billion.

Market Breadth

12 stocks gained while 29 stocks lost bringing the market breadth to a negative round off.

Percentage Gainers

Linkage Assurance led other percentage gainers, closing 9.68% above its previous close of N0.62 to close at N0.68

Union Diagnostics and FBNH also grew 3.70% and 3.14% ahead other stocks on the gainers’ chart.

Percentage Losers

UAC Properties led the losers’ chart, shedding 10% of its share price to close at N1.71 from the previous close of N1.9.

Berger Paint, Learn Africa, Air Service and Oando also shed 9.72%, 9.45%, 9.09% and 9% among others on the losers’ chart.

Volume Drivers

Guaranty Trust Bank traded about 20.6 million units of its shares in 260 deals, valued at N785.45 million.

Zenith Bank traded about 22.39 million units of its shares in 408 deals, valued at N518.4 million.
